Grandmaster Nightfalls are tailored towards the top end of players and become available many weeks into a Destiny 2 season. They are power-capped (meaning players’ power level advantages don’t matter after a certain point) and filled with Champions.

Players are penalized very hard for making mistakes or overreaching in Grandmaster difficulty, which is why many resort to cheesing or exploiting. User BetrayalFromBehind has shared a glitching trick to make the Strike a whole lot shorter and easier.

Players need to do the strike as normal until the open-air bridge section. Then, approach the door until the “A Champion has appeared!” notification pops up.

After that, players need to travel back up the stairs and through the tunnels they came from until the location name changes to “Maevic Square.” At this point, a sparrow can be spawned.

While on the sparrow, the fireteam needs to head back to the room that they were just in and travel down the first flight of stairs. All the way to the left will be a barred door. While leaning next to the door, dismounting from the left side of a sparrow will allow the player to glitch through said gate and move freely out of bounds.

While outside the map, the fireteam needs get as high as possible and head towards the silo. Players will come across a building with skylights on it. Slipping through the skylights will put them past the bridge encounter.

However, while the bridge encounter itself has been skipped, the fireteam still needs to head down to the proper exit of the bridge encounter to kill the Taken Knight that guards it. This will make the Strike mission progress.

This trick will make things easier for those who simply want to complete Lake of Shadows on the highest difficulty. However, those who still want Platinum can use this trick as all Champions can be engaged going backwards too.

If anyone is unsure about using this exploit, Bungie doesn’t ban players for doing glitches like this as the studio does not punish acts done thru in-game means, unlike the use of third-party software and hacking.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
