Indeed, players can currently claim three free packs of Adventures in the Forgotten Realms simply by entering PlayDND into Arena. For the uninitiated, these types of codes can be used by navigating to the in-game store and inputting them into the “Redeem Code” box at the top-right corner. Players can also redeem codes through the Wizards account website, and that may be of interest to fans that primarily play on MTG Arena’s mobile client.

To note, this AFR code is certainly not the only opportunity for fans to earn some free rewards in MTG Arena, as there are a variety of other codes active right now. These additional codes grant XP, cosmetics, and even packs of other Magic: The Gathering sets, and here is a selection of some of the most-exciting codes that are available at the time of writing:

PlayRavnica: 3 Guilds of Ravnica Packs PLAYWARSPARK: 3 War of the Spark Packs PlayM20: 3 Core Set 2020 Packs PlayEldraine:  3 Throne of Eldraine Packs PlayTheros: 3 Theros Beyond Death Packs PlayIkoria: 3 Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths Packs PLAYM21: 3 Core Set 2021 Packs PlayZendikar: 3 Zendikar Rising Packs TryKaladesh: 1 Kaladesh Remastered Pack PlayKaldheim: 3 Kaldheim Packs PlayStrixhaven: 3 Strixhaven: School of Mages Pack LevelUp: 2,000 XP RestorativeBurst: 2,000 XP, 1 Strixhaven Pack ExperimentalOverload: 2,000 XP, 1 Strixhaven Pack, 1 Mastery Orb

It is worth mentioning that MTG Arena codes frequently have expiration dates, after which they can no longer be used. In fact, the expiration dates have come and gone for several of the codes listed above, though they all appear to be working currently. That said, if a Magic: The Gathering player finds that some of these codes are not functioning properly, it may be because they have recently been deactivated.

Another reason that one of these codes might not work is that it has not been entered exactly as indicated in the list above. Indeed, these codes are case sensitive, and fans should take great care to use capitalization properly. While this is a fairly simple thing to do, fans that do not heed this warning may have a bit of trouble claiming their free packs of MTG’s Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set.

Magic: The Gathering Arena is available on PC, Mac, and Mobile.
