One of the components of Magic Arena that might come as a surprise to paper Magic or MTGO players are Wildcards. These special rewards offer players the chance to exchange the Wildcard for any actual card of the appropriate rarity. This is a powerful perk and will help players put together competitive level decks without spending a ton of real money to purchase packs.

Here is how to redeem and use Wildcards in Magic Arena:

First, head to your collection and click the Wildcard button to see all available cards, including ones of which you own 0 copies. It’s the button that looks like four petals with the planeswalker symbol in the middle. Next, click the card you’d like to make. This will bring up a confirmation screen. Click Confirm on it to get a copy of the card.

Alternatively, if you already have a copy of the card, you can click it from your collection without first clicking the Wildcard button. Another option is to attempt to add more copies of a card than you own to a deck in the editor. Doing this will trigger a prompt to redeem a Wildcard for that card.

That’s all there is to it. Be sure to check back for more Magic Arena guides and tips as we continue exploring all of the features in the game’s beta. Until then, glhf, planeswalkers.

Magic Arena is currently available in open beta on PC.
