Madden isn’t set to release until Aug. 19, but ratings are slowly starting to trickle out for the long-running football sim franchise.
The first rating that was released was something off a paradigm shift: 49ers left tackle Trent Williams was the first member of the 99 overall club, as revealed on June 1 this year. Williams is the first offensive lineman to join the 99 overall club in the game.
Joining him in the club and making his second 99 overall club appearance is wideout Davante Adams, as revealed on July 18. There should be others joining him — and a fair amount of debate and discussion — surrounding the ratings and more this week.

Madden 23 ratings
In partnership with EA Sports, ESPN is releasing certain position groups each day during the week of July 18. Top 10 players in five different position groups will be released, as well as a member of the 99-overall club, presumably each morning.
Here’s the release schedule for the position groups this week:
Monday, July 18: Wide receivers Tuesday, July 19: Edge rushers Wednesday, July 20: Running backs Thursday, July 21: Cornerbacks Friday, July 22: Quarterbacks

— Myles Garrett, coming off a 16-sack season, was named to the 99 Club on July 19.
— Fresh off a Super Bowl title, Aaron Donald earned his sixth 99 rating from Madden entering the 2022 season
